"Why would I bring my child to a chiropractor?" That is a very common question we get from people that see we are a pediatric and pregnancy focused chiropractic clinic. People have their newborn checked immediately at birth for external issues but tend to overlook the delicate spine after a somewhat traumatic birth. It is important to make sure a child's spine is aligned and developing correctly through multiple stages of life.

Not only is it important to make sure the spine is aligned and developing properly but it's important to make sure it's got a clear neurological connection from the brain to the body. The connection allows important nerve impulses to be sent effectively so the body can operate the way it's designed to, free of interference. The brain controls all functions including hormone regulation, digestion, muscle function, focus and many other things. Things can interrupt that vital connection and cause dis-ease. When the vertebrae in the spine misalign, we call that a subluxation. When that vertebra is subluxated, the body does not function as well. Children can present with symptoms like colic, ear infections, spitting up, breastfeeding issues like poor latch, gassiness, constipation and many more.

It is important to get children checked for subluxations at birth to create a successful feeding, digestion and sleeping transition. Getting them checked as they begin to crawl and walk and as they have growth spurts is equally important.  Helping them jump higher, run faster, think clearer, and be their best is our goal. Please consult with a chiropractor today and keep your family the healthiest they can be.
