Making Your Immune System a Powerhouse

You come in contact with germs, bacteria, and viruses daily and your body continues to protect you if you take care of it. Any sickness and disease are the result of the body not adapting and functioning correctly. Why? Why do some people get sick all the time and some people don’t? Your immune system is the defense against sickness and disease. You can boost it and you can destroy it. You are in control of your wellbeing. Let’s not forget it isn’t the germ’s fault or people getting too close.

The best way to destroy your immune system is drinking sodas and alcohol to excess, smoking, sedentary lifestyle, eating junk/processed foods, eating lots of sugar, worrying, being critical and negative, not sleeping, not taking care of your nerve system/spine.

The following are some tips on keeping your immune system a powerhouse, especially during these unprecedented times.

  1. Do not worry. I understand it's very difficult to put this to action but worrying releases cortisol which has detrimental effects on our overall health. Find ways to release tension like prayer, meditation, nature walks, talking with positive people and journaling. Laugh more and be grateful. Start a gratitude journal and post inspirational quotes throughout your home.
  2. Get good sleep. 7-9 hours of rest restores and rejuvenates our bodies. 
  3. Eat clean. Avoid sugar, limit alcohol and don't smoke. Raw vegetables should be our primary fuel followed by protein and fruit. Anything processed is not considered clean. Shopping the perimeter of the grocery store is the easiest way to begin a cleaner habit. Drink a gallon of water daily.
  4. Take high quality supplements. Vitamins D, C, multivitamin, zinc, Apple cider vinegar, colloidal silver, Echinacea, probiotics, essential fatty acids (fish/flax seed oil) are just the tip of the iceberg for immune enhancing supplements. It is vital to supplement daily with quality products. I can’t express this enough!
  5. Get Chiropractic adjustments. Stress interferes with nerve system function. We keep Your nerve system as clear as possible. Your nerve system runs everything including your immune system. Your immune system is what controls healing from injury and illness. You have the power to create strength or weakness from within. Your choice!
